Carrie Jones

Carrie started riding as an 8yo with a wonderful welsh cob, ‘Poncho’. On her 10th birthday she was given a 3yo brumby that was caught locally and trained by her grandfather. From a love of novelties and jumping, the pair progressed through the ranks of Pony Club.

Carrie is now a senior squad member of Eventing Victoria with her 2* horse ‘The Real Slim Shady’. Alongside eventing, Carrie has a passion for stockman challenges and competes all over Australia.

Carrie has been training horses for the past 15 years alongside her role as a primary school teacher. She enjoys camping in Victoria’s high country with her horses, running alongside the brumbies and following in her grandfathers’ footsteps.
