Casey Bruce

At the age of 7, Casey’s parents decided to move from Tullamarine (VIC) to a property in Woodend. It was then, on a small 5 acre block, her love of horses began.

A love for the Showring and Dressage saw Casey become one of the most successful young competitors in the state, having won Championships at Major Royal Shows and in Interstate competitions including dressage.

After acquiring a job as a stable hand as a teenager, it was not long after, Casey was offered an apprenticeship as a Jockey. Casey quickly became one of the up-and-coming
female riders winning races all over Victoria and Interstate. She progressed to riding for most of the major trainers in Victoria (Bart & Anthony Cummings, Robert Smerdon, Matt Ellerton, John Symons & Shiela Laxon) just to name a
few, riding in over 3000 races for just shy of 300 winners.

During Casey’s riding career, she was introduced to the media and commenced training in interviews, television, radio presentations and much more. Casey has now made a successful career in not only being a jockey but also a racing media host. Fashions on the Field have become her specialty, as well as trophy presentations, talking to women’s groups, Equine Commentary at Australia’s biggest events, Cooperate functions and much more.

Earlier this year in 2024, Casey was awarded the very prestigious Spirit of Racing Award with the Victorian Wakeful Club, an achievement that showcases Women in Racing.
