Donna Edwards-Smith

Donna Edwards-Smith has been a force to be reckoned with in the eventing world since a young age.

Donna gained a huge amount of mileage from top riders on the international eventing scene, working alongside Andrew Nicholson in England and then David and Karen O’Connor in the USA. In between these two eventing superstars she also spent many years working for show jumping legend David Goodin in New Zealand.

To date Donna has produced over thirty 4* and above upper level horses and two Olympic Games competitors. She has had to sell these horses to support her rise to the top. However, things have changed and she now has built up an incredible team of young horses and plans to retain the rides herself on her Olympic and World Equestrian Games prospect horses.

Donna spends a huge amount of time coaching and is commonly referred to as one of the industry's most sportsman-like competitors. She’s often seen supporting and encouraging fellow competitors in the warm-up whilst riding herself.

Donna is married and based in the Waikato in New Zealand. She and her wife run the biggest event team in the country as well as a 500 acre dry stock farm.
