Maija Vance

Maija Vance has grown up around horses and racing, beginning her jockey apprenticeship at just 16. After stepping away from race riding in 2018, she returned to show jumping while also building experience in social media. More recently, Maija and her partner, Australian trainer Josh King, began training racehorses together.

Her career has already included success across both racing and show jumping. Maija competed up to Young Rider 1.35m at Horse of the Year at just 14 and was the leading female jockey in Queensland for two years. She also recently celebrated her first winner as a trainer with Cowboy at Ruakaka.

Nutrition plays an important role in Maija’s approach to horse management. Tracktorque is her preferred feed for racehorses, while Showtorque is her choice for show horses. She is also looking forward to incorporating the new True Beet into her feeding program.
